New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services Department- Senior Fraud Awareness Presentation In-Person
New Mexico Aging and Long Term Services Department will be at the library to give a one hour presentation on Senior Fraud Awareness.
You can expect to learn about common types of scams targeting older adults, such as phone, email, and internet fraud.
NM ALTSD will provide resources for reporting suspicious activities and tips on how to safeguard personal information. The goal of this presentation is to empower seniors with knowledge and tools to stay safe and avoid falling victim to financial scams.
How to Report Fraud:
- FTC (Federal Trade Commission): ReportFraud.ftc.gov
- Elderly Abuse Hotlines: Call the Adult Protective Services Statewide Intake at 1-866-654-3219 to report suspected abuse, neglect, or exploitation.
- Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB): Reporting scams related to finances.
- AARP Fraud Watch Network: Offers resources and alerts on the latest scams targeting seniors.
