Romance Readers - An Old Friend In-Person
According to the Romance Writers of America, there are two basic elements of every romance novel: a central love story and an emotionally satisfying and optimistic ending [RWA]. Beyond that, anything goes, from the setting to the tropes. Romance novels can be set in Victorian times, or modern times. They can be sweet, or exptremely spicy.
This group reads a book of their choice, based on the suggested theme/trope/subgenre. This allows our members to read what they enjoy, while also branching outside their comfort zone, just a little. For this meeting, re-read your favorite romance novel (or 2!) and come prepared to discuss how it fits within the Romance Genre!
