Star Wars: A New Hope in Navajo In-Person
Join us for “Dinner and a Movie” as the Farmington Public Library brings George Lucas’s Star Wars: A New Hope Navajo Translation.
This 1977 science fiction film was the first film released in the Skywalker Saga. It features a young farmer, Luke Skywalker, receiving a message intended for Obi-Wan Kenobi, and him joining Kenobi on an epic space trip to rescue Princess Leia. The movie stars then-unknown Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, and Carrie Fisher, along with veteran actors Peter Cushing, Alec Guinness, and James Earl Jones.
Movie will be shown in the Navajo Language but will have English subtitles.
Pick up and read one of the many Star Wars books and comic books we have here at the library.
There will also be a special viewing from Ma'ii Production, an animated episode "The Band Shandiin: Stadium Walk" written and directed by Anthony Chee Emerson. Starring the voices of Glen Talley, Craig Whitewater, and Elciena Baker.
